San Pedro/San Jose Home

Created in 2006, Hogar San Jose is a home for physically and mentally handicapped children from impoverished families, who do not have the means to care for them and simply abandon them.

The Hogar’s objective is to give the children love and adequate care in an environment designed to improve their quality of life and maximize their potential to become as independent and productive as possible.

Currently Hogar San Jose is home to twenty-two abandoned children who receive shelter, clothing, food, education, healthcare, physical therapy and love. Thirteen additional children, who have families, come to the center during the day to be treated and cared for. The goal is to move to a new location and build a new facility designed and adequately equipped to care for 300 children.

BCF plans for 2009 is to assist in the purchase of a $16,000 commercial oven for the bakery to provide bread for the home, job skills for youth of the home and additional revenue.
